I am a psychotherapist and Intake Manager at Wildflower Center for Emotional Health. As a clinician, I enjoy working with individuals and couples who seek to build a more meaningful and joyful life together that is congruent with their key values. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the central pillar of all success in therapy. I seek to understand people and their challenges so that positive change – tailored to each person – can happen. I emphasize a collaborative approach where we jointly work towards long-term growth.
In sessions with me, you can expect a welcoming environment where genuine conversation and exploration can occur. My specialties include relationships, sex therapy, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, ADHD, OCD, phobias, and various forms of identity upheaval. I have extensive experience treating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and supporting individuals and relationships who are navigating transition to parenthood, infertility struggles, and perinatal loss.
I recognize the challenges each person overcomes to start therapy and the courage required to begin that process. Together we will look for pragmatic and effective ways to ignite the process towards feeling better, living a more authentic life, and experiencing sustained joy.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Cornell College and my master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Chicago. I draw on multiple evidence-based frameworks and approaches, specializing in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, the Gottman Method, Functional Analytic Psychotherapy, EMDR, and Trauma-Informed Care practices. In addition to being certified in perinatal mental health (PMH-C), I’m a trained facilitator of The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work workshop, and have completed advanced training in affair and trauma recovery through the Gottman Institute.
I also specialize in providing sex therapy. Sexuality and sexual health are critically important aspects of overall well-being that influence our emotional, physical, psychological, and relationship health. As a sex therapist, I am passionate about helping couples overcome common challenges that include differences in libido, loss of intimacy, difficulties communicating about sexual preferences and needs, and negative patterns of relationship conflict/disconnection. I also work with individuals who are looking to address sexual dysfunctions such as erectile issues, troubles with orgasm, or pain during sex. One of the areas I particularly enjoy focusing on in my work with individuals and couples is helping people explore, understand, and accept their sexual identity. As a lifelong learner, I am constantly looking for ways to expand my ability to meaningfully contribute to the well-being of those I am privileged to serve. To this end, I am currently pursuing sex therapy certification through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).
One of the most difficult aspects of therapy is getting started. It can feel overwhelming to try and find a therapist who specializes in what you are hoping to address and has a style that matches what you are looking for. As Wildflower’s Intake Manager, my goal is to make finding a therapist as easy for you as possible. We aim to make Wildflower’s intake process feel welcoming, supporting you from when you first reach out to when you schedule with us. Our intake team seeks to get you scheduled with the therapist who will be that excellent fit as soon as possible. In cases where we may not be the best fit for your needs, we will provide you with trusted referrals to help you connect with a therapist who will support you in your pursuit of health and wellness.
